Welcome to my homepage. I am currently
carrying out my research activities at the CEDRIC (Centre d'Etude et de
Recherche en Informatique et Communications) laboratory, of the
Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, in Paris, France as a
post-doctoral associate researcher. I am also responsible of
CEDRIC's contributions within the EU funded
ARtSense project.
I have a dual background in Humanities (School
of Philosophy,
Department of History of Art and Archaeology,
University of Ioannina, Greece) and Information
and Communication Technologies (Computer
Science Department and
Department of
History and Archaeology,
University of Crete
and Foundation of Research and
Technology) and a professional and scientific experience
related with the use of ICT for the documentation and
interpretation of Cultural Heritage as well as for learning in
formal and informal learning environments.
I have had and have the joy, pleasure and
honor to collaborate with many Cultural Heritage professionals and
institutions in Europe (France, Netherlands, Belgium, Greece,
Norway, Denmark, Spain and UK) and a solid experience from working
both in academic and industrial environments. My PhD thesis
internship was carried out in the
Orange
Labs/France Telecom Research and Development Division.
My research interests are in visitor and
museum studies with a focus on the introduction and use of ICT
technologies for the interpretation of Cultural Heritage,
interaction design, participatory design, Mixed and Augmented
Reality, edutainment ("serious" games), computer-assisted learning
using mobile devices and technologies and quantitative and
qualitative evaluation.
